Nos 27-29, Endell Street
Three-storey, domestic scaled, late-18th century survivals – no. 27 (to the left hand side side) of two-bays and no. 29 (to the righthand side) of three bays. In the 1930s, the frontages were cement rendered with two modestly projecting bands and Crittall-type subdivided, painted steel windows were inserted. The render has been painted pink.
There are two modern shopfronts with a former open entry between the two now infilled. Only the original consoles and the pilasters to no. 29 survive to each side of a simple modern shopfront.
A building of modest townscape value contributing to the character, appearance and significance of the Seven Dials Conservation Area.
It is recommended that traditionally detailed shopfronts should be reinstated and other missing features restored in a coherent scheme addressing both properties.
