No. 1a, Earlham Street
This handsome three-bay, three-storey street elevation with original mansard and dormers above, was built around 1892, designed by Henry Whiteman Rising.
The London Stock brick elevation has red brick dressings with the first floor windows with stone lintels recessed in blank arches and a good crowning cornice and parapet.
There is a modern shopfront of traditional character with black painted joinery and a rectractable, projecting canopy blind. There is poor lettering on the fascia with poorly designed external lighting
An unlisted building of both architectural interest and townscape value contributing positively to the character, appearance and significance of the Seven Dials Conservation Area.
The scope to introduce improved lettering and illumination of the fascia sign should be pursued.
