Nos. 4-6, Arne Street
Defining the corner of Arne Street and Dryden Street, nos. 4-6, Arne Street form the return elevation to nos. 3-5, Dryden Street. The three bays with elliptically-arched window openings with alternate red and white voussoirs at first floor level, the moulded and brick dentil cornice between the first and second floors and the pilasters with moulded leaf capitals framing the 3-over-6 sash windows at second floor level reflect a similar treatment to that of nos. 3-5, Dryden Street. There are also elliptically-arched window openings at third floor level with 3-over-6 subdivided sashes. Regrettably, like the wide piers at ground floor level on nos. 3-5, Dryden Street, the glazed brick facings have been overpainted.
The building is of architectural interest and considerable townscape value and contributes positively to the character, appearance and significance of the Covent Garden Conservation Area.
This building has been recently refurbished and is in good condition. Future management should continue this approach.
