No. 37, Neal Street
A well restored, grade II listed, four-storey, early-19th century property faced in yellow stock brick, with slated mansard attic storey. A modestly projecting, painted, stone band runs across the building incorporating the cills of the window openings at first floor level above the shopfront. 6-over-6 subdivided sash windows in each of the two window openings at first, second and third floor levels.
The replica early-19th century shopfront (with external shutters), presently painted light blue, is well designed and detailed and was finely executed in quality joinery under the direction of the GLC Historic Buildings Division in the 1980s.
A building of special architectural and historic interest with a shopfront of particular interest and of townscape value, contributing positively to the character, appearance and significance of the Seven Dials Conservation Area.
