Nos. 4, 6, 8 and 10, Short’s Gardens
Forming an integral part of the grade II listed, early-to-mid-19th century, former brewery complex, and occupying the 17th
century building plots, the properties read as two very fine matching reconstructions of the early 19th century, four-storey original houses on the site.
The upper floors comprise two bays at nos. 8-10 and three bays at nos. 4-6, four storeys above with well-restored traditional shopfronts at ground floor level flanked by carved console brackets, and flush-beaded front doors to the flats (numbered nos. 4 and 10). 6-over-6 subdivided sash windows at upper floor levels, below a mansard roof storey at fourth floor level.
Modest, externally-illuminated hanging signs project from the properties.
