No. 55, Shelton Street
The London Stock brick-faced, front elevation of this three-storey plus mansard property has been insensitively rebuilt further to War-time bomb damage and the shopfront is of modern design. There is single wide tripartite window at first and second floor levels. However, the entrance door and top-light to the upper floors to the left hand side of the shopfront appears to be of 19th century origin.
A building that neither contributes to nor detracts from the character, appearance or significance of the Seven Dials Conservation Area.
If ever reconstructed, the front elevation might take the form of an accurate re-instatement of the original, late-Georgian design, complementing the adjoining historic buildings to the south-west.
