No. 69, Neal Street
A four-storeyed, two-bay wide, late-19th century building with an additional, mansard storey at fourth floor level, given distinction by the scalloped parapet. London Stock brick elevation with red brick dressings. 6-over-6 sash-windows at each level.
A well preserved, late-19th/ early-20th century shopfront, but spoilt by being painted in fluorescent green. The fascia carries neat simple lettering. There are two projecting hanging-signs. The upper sign is a painted board, the lower an oversized pair of spectacles.
A building of architectural interest and townscape value contributing positively to the character, appearance and significance of the Seven Dials Conservation Area.
Every encouragement should be given to the repainting of the shopfront in a more appropriate colour and preserving the shopfront and signs.
