Nos 70-74, Neal Street
A somewhat architecturally restless, four/five storey, housing block, built by the GLC in the 1980s. The upper floors faced in a purple-brown brick with recessed balconies at first floor level carried a smooth-finished concrete, cantilevered slab, with a chamfered edge, above neatly resolved, modern shopfronts at ground floor level with slim, internally-illuminated projecting signs.
Whilst taller than nearby buildings, the property is of some architectural interest and townscape value, contributing to the character, appearance and significance of the Seven Dials Conservation Area.
