Nos. 27-39, Short’s Gardens

Nos. 27-39 comprise a characterful four-storey modern development of flats above shops incorporating a double height arched entry to the residential Matthew’s Yard. Faced in London Stock brick with blue brick cills and window-opening heads. The shopfronts are neatly inserted below three, wide, segmental arches, presently and regrettably over-clad in red.

A modern development of particular architectural interest and townscape value contributing to the character, appearance and significance of the Seven Dials Conservation Area.

The removal of the red over-cladding of the three arches containing the shopfronts should be encouraged.
