History

Formerly Little St Andrew’s Street, this section of Monmouth Street contains the Comyn Ching Triangle, a very successful conservation-based development by Terry Farrell and Partners of the 1990s, comprising restored historic buildings and new buildings at the corners grouped around a newly created, central open space. The historic buildings form the most complete run of original 17th century buildings in Seven Dials. Comyn Ching were famous ironmongers and owned properties in Monmouth Street and adjoining Shelton and Mercer Streets, trading in Seven Dials from the 1700s until the late-20th century.
