166a Shaftesbury Avenue, The Chapel, return on Mercer Street
The interesting, five-bay, red brick flank of the early-20th century, former Gower Street Memorial Chapel – now The Chinese Church in London - has attractive salmon pink terra-cotta dressings and terminates at its south-eastern end with a tall and thin, five-storey, two-bay house. See 166a Shaftesbury Avenue.
Although unlisted, the building is of particular architectural and historic interest and of considerable townscape value contributing positively to the character, appearance and significance of the Seven Dials Conservation Area.
